In May 2021, I began experimenting with oil paint. Since then, I've painted over 25 oil paintings.
This is my first oil painting, painted on May 9, 2021. I have worked into this piece, adding texture and color, light and shadows. I used a limited pallet of 7 different colors, knives, and brushes.
This painting is meaningful to me not only because it is my first oil painting, but also because it depicts my pet rabbit sitting underneath a tree shortly after her death in January 2021.
This is my third oil painting, painted on June 19, 2021. This painting was for my mother, who loves octopi. This octopus, in particular, the blue-ringed octopus (or Hapalochlaena), is a highly venomous species found in coral reefs in the Pacific and Indian Oceans.
This is my second oil painting, painted on May 22, 2021.
A landscape in Denmark, painted for my Danish mother on March 26, 2022.
A landscape of a beach in Israel, painted for my Israeli father on April 8, 2022.
This is my fourth oil painting, and my first portrait, painted for my Danish grandfather on July 27, 2021. It was painted in just a day, as I was heading on a flight the next day to visit my family in Israel.
Painted on August 2, 2021, this painting depicts my father and me, on the beach, drinking water from a coconut. I'm crying because there isn't any water left in my coconut, and my father finds this funny.
This painting is of my rabbit, Oaky, painted a few months after her death in January on July 1, 2021. This painting led to people commissioning paintings of their pets from me.
